(UAL) Voluntary Supplemental Insurance Benefits Enrollment
Enrollment extended to February 17, 2017
The AFA United MEC Benefits Committee is happy to announce Open Enrollment for Aflac/CAIC voluntary supplemental insurance benefits for pre-merger United Flight Attendants. Enrollment will be from December 5, 2016 through February 17, 2017. If you enroll from December 5 - January 15, 2017, the effective date of your policy will be February 1, 2017. If your enroll from January 16 - February 17, 2017, the effective date of your policy will be March 1, 2017. By clicking the link below you can enroll on the web with self-service enrollment option, or make an appointment to have a licensed benefits educators help and enroll you by phone.
Insurance plans include Short-Term Disability, Accident, Critical Illness (including cancer coverage), and Hospital Indemnity. All policy premiums will be payroll deducted for your convenience. The site has plan summaries, rates and a question and answer document.
ATTENTION! NGP ENROLLMENT ERROR
It has been brought to the attention of the United AFA MEC Benefits Committee that some pre-Merger United Flight Attendants were signed up in error in domiciles for National Group Protection (NGP) CAIC policies for which they were not eligible during the fourth quarter of 2016. As a result, those Flight Attendants will not be signed up for NGP policies, they are eligible to sign up for Aflac/CAIC policies in this enrollment. A letter has been mailed from AFA to all affected Flight Attendants. Click here for a copy of the letter
