Day One of 2017 Spring AFA United MEC Meeting
The Spring Meeting of the United Master Executive Council (MEC) began in Chicago today. Your Local Council President, joined by the 15 other presidents from around our system, addressed the business of our Union and the issues that are important to you.
Elections for various MEC positions will be conducted as the first order of business on the second day of our Spring 2017 Regular Meeting.
If you are in Chicago, we encourage you to stop by to witness our democratic process by attending the MEC meeting in progress. Summaries for each day of this meeting will be posted on our website.
Unitedafa.org Member Only Account
Last week we were successfully able to incorporate United’s Membership data for all United Flight Attendants regardless of pre-merger affiliation into our databases. We were made aware of a possible problem with the data that was imported. Specifically, it appears there was an error in the data used to update the SW Classification (Inflight or bid) seniority date. We reviewed the inconsistent data and identified the problem back to the source file for the data provided. We notified United and the error was corrected quickly. All Flight Attendants who experienced issues logging into the Member’s Section of unitedafa.org should no longer have issues logging in.

Industry News: Join Our Mesa Sisters and Brothers on the Picket Line - April 25
Our Union Sisters and Brothers at Mesa Airlines have asked us to support them on the picket line on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Mesa AFA Members turned out a record-breaking strike vote of 99.56% last week! Now, it's time to turn up the heat on management with a Day of Action on April 25, 2017 from 12:00-1:00pm local time at the following airports: Chicago (ORD), Dallas (DFW), and Phoenix (PHX).
Enough is enough. Let our Mesa Sisters and Brothers know we have their back. Mesa Flight Attendants have consistently stood united with us on our picket line. We encourage all AFA Members to support their efforts by joining them as we fight for their Contract.
We ask that you stand, in uniform, with our Mesa Sisters and Brothers as every step forward is good for all of us. Stand with Mesa Flight Attendants at ourcontract.org.
