July Due Month (Required Move) – pmUA Flight Attendants

Date: January 26, 2018
Type: AFA Article

TO: pmUA Flight Attendants with a July Due Month who Travel to their Training Location

Domiciles Affected:  (BOS, DCA, LAX, FRA, LAS, HKG, NRT, & HNL)

In anticipation of the peak 2018 summer flying, we have identified an opportunity to support United’s goal of improved productivity during our peak July flying month.   To accomplish this, those Flight Attendants who travel from their base to another location for training will be required to re-bid their due (must go) CQ training month from July to a month earlier in the calendar year to ensure regulatory compliance.   In addition to supporting corporate productivity objectives, this decision will also maximize revenue opportunities on the flights where seats would otherwise have been used to transport Flight Attendants to and from training.

You are receiving this email because you have been identified as having a July CQ due month and are required to travel to another location for training.    You will have the opportunity to bid for a new due month choosing from the following three choices:  March 2018, April 2018 or May 2018.   Once awarded your new month, you will see your awarded due month in your CQDATE screen in Unimatic.

Note:  If you are on a Leave of Absence status at the time of the award, you will not be assigned a new due (must go) month.

The following are the details for submitting a bid for a new bid month:

To submit bids: DIS* 14501

Please be sure to place your file number in the bid page and enter the two digit month code on the bid screen over the “MM”.  For example, if you are bidding March you would enter 03.

CQ due month Bids Open: Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 1200 CST
CQ due month Bid Close: Monday February 05, 2018 at 0700 CST
CQ due month Bids Posted:  No later than February 06, 2018 at 0700 CST.

CQ due month bids will be awarded in base seniority order.

If you do not bid (no bids) or you cannot hold what you bid (insufficient bid), you will be awarded a new due (bid) month in inverse seniority order starting with the earliest of the available training month options, in consecutive order, to the last training month option -  (i.e. March, April then May).
