| Inside this issue: | Spring Cleaning and Housekeeping Reminder, joining with ALPA and others April 6th |
Well, we made it through another New England, and this one was rather easy compared to the weather of the last few years. Welcome to SPRING!! As Spring cleaning is usually in order, this is your yearly reminder for checking your records. Please check your work history, and that is done in Unimatic by typing in FDWH/ File Number. Also, please check on your attendance, also done in Unimatic by typing in RECORD/File Number. If you feel anything might be erroneous, or if you have a point total that you find a bit worrisome, please call one of your local AFA officers for help, or explanation. We will be happy to explain how things are processed, and if things are in error, we might be able to help with those issues too.
Another reminder for the picketing event, held in Boston April 6th, Wednesday!
Our Sisters and Brothers at ALPA have invited AFA Members to join them at a picketing event in Boston on Wednesday, April 6th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The event will be held at the offices of Altimeter Capital Management and PAR Capital Management, located at One International Place at the corner of Purchase and Oliver in Boston’s financial district.
The Hedge Funds are attempting to secure seats on United’s Board of Directors and are seeking to appoint former airline CEO Gordon Bethune as Chairman of the Board. As recently as our last picketing event we have publicly stated our support for Oscar and his vision for United. This attempt to hijack the Board of Directors is not in the best long-term interest of United, its long-term investors or United’s Employees. This picketing event is another opportunity for us to voice our concerns while standing together with not only our Sisters and Brothers at ALPA but with other employees of our airline.
If you are in the Boston area, we ask that you come in full uniform. Transportation from Boston’s airport is available via Boston’s MBTA subway system. From Airport take Blue Line - Bowdoin to Aquarium and walk for approx. 8 minutes to One International Place.
If you have additional questions, please contact the AFA Boston Local Council 27 office. We look forward to seeing you there.
Thanks for making Boston the best place in the system to work!!
