Happy Independence Day
Today is a day commemorating the adoption of the Declaration Of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress declaring that the thirteen American Colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and no longer part of the British Empire. Airport Availability
Houston Councils 42 and 64 will be available at the airport throughout the month to answer any questions that you may have on the TA Summary that you have now received. We are here to provide you the facts so you can make an informed decision when it comes time to vote.
Contract Roadshows
The Joint MEC and Joint Negotiation Committee have released a more comprehensive summary of the tentative agreement for your study. This 31 page Word document will offer you greater depth and more topics until the full agreement is available on July 11th.
The full agreement is undergoing complete scrutiny by both AFA’s and United’s labor attorneys, line by line, section by section, ensuring agreed upon language is inserted properly. It is a necessary and difficult editing process and you are thanked for your patience in waiting for this legal document to be presented.
As announced in AFA Elines, a contract roadshow will begin on July 11th and move throughout the system. Our Houston roadshow is scheduled on July 27, 2016 at Houston Airport Marriott at George Bush Intercontinental from 0900-1300. In the future, we will be announcing our Local Council Meeting regarding the tentative agreement and we will communicate with you at that time when time and location is determined.
