INSIDE THIS ISSUE - July 10, 2016
• Roadshow this week for Boston
• August Line Averages
• Yes Virginia, there is a 777
The TA Roadshows begin tomorrow in Newark, NJ. Please share this schedule with your flying partners as one city might work better for their schedules than another. No matter if you feel your decision has been made, or you need more information to make your choice, please do your best to attend a Roadshow before you cast a vote. Of course we would rather have everyone at the Logan Airport Hilton this Thursday, July 14th. We know that prior commitments and flying can often get in the way.

Line averages for Boston for August will be 73:52. As we cannot count on these averages every summer, we feel fortunate that the MEC and Local CSC has done such a wonderful job with our schedules over the grueling June through August line months. If you see anyone that builds lines for us, Celeste Bouchard, Cynthia Flammia, Janis Rourke, Tobi Whitney, and Karen Sullivan, please thank them. The job is very time consuming, often thankless, and incredibly stressful. Without these five wonderful volunteers, you might be flying far less comfortable schedules in Boston.
Just as Virginia read it in the Sun, you are reading it in the Beantown News, so there must be truth to it. The 777 will be coming to Boston in October!!! Yes, we know that you will miss the 737 on this, our longest domestic flight, but surely you will get over it. We have been told by the Company, that if the flight does well, we will see a second 777 to SFO sometime in December. LAXSW flight attendant Greg Jacobs who handles BOSSW on the AFA MEC Central Scheduling Committee, as well as our own Celeste Bouchard and the Local Officers of Council 27, have been advocating with the company that we be able to staff this flight in whole, or at least part. The company reiterated that it will staff the flight with the base that makes the most sense economically. We won't know until the October schedules are released in mid-September, which base will actually staff this flight, but if we find out ahead of time, we will let you know. Currently the flight is scheduled this way
UA 768 Leaves SFO at 0835 and arrives The Hub of the Universe at 1704
UA 576 Leaves BOS at 1830 and arrives SFO at 2140
Have a great weekend everyone, and we hope to see you on Thursday for the Boston Roadshow, or at another Roadshow that fits your schedule.
Your Council 27 Team.
