| Inside this issue: | United is United |

Our Tentative Agreement (TA) has been ratified. It now becomes our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to vote. It was a long difficult journey, but we are finally able to become a truly United Airlines.
We had a record turnout of 90.11%.
For: 9966 (53%)
Against: 8760 (47%)
The full implementation of our new CBA will unfold over the next 12-18 months. The provision I hope all of us will look forward to is the new hourly rates of pay, which will take place beginning September 1, 2016. These new pay rates will be reflected in your October 1st paycheck.
I’d like to thank everyone from Council 14 who supported our JNC and our Union. Whether wearing your AFA pin or showing up for our many Day of Action picketing events, our standing together helped us achieve this historic agreement. Our base may be small, but we are mighty.
I’d like to say a special thanks to our Local Executive Council Officers Lani, Ilse, and Dwayne as well as our Communications Chair Sharon who all made themselves available in the domicile, on the airplane, and via our Coconut Wireless newsletter to help you gain a clearer understanding of the TA and to answer your questions and concerns.
Imua,
Kevin

Fellow Flight Attendants,
We have a ratified contract. With some of the highest numbers in AFA history, over 90 percent participated in the vote with 53% voting to ratify the agreement. You have participated in a historic vote and there is no doubt that every single one of you is deeply engaged and cares about our future.
There will be much to communicate regarding implementation of our agreement. Look for those communications in the coming days and weeks.
This vote means we are moving forward together to achieve the benefits of a fully integrated airline. Today, make it a point to reach out to someone you don’t know, but who shares our wings and our future. Our strength comes from how we take care of each other.
We are one airline. We are one union. We are one.
In Solidarity,
Ken Diaz
