• A day of remembrance and a day of peace
September 11th … A Day for Remembrance and Peace.
It has been 15 years, and yet it seems like yesterday. Those of us that were based in Boston on 9/11/01, and are still here today, have gotten a little older, a little wiser, and will always remember. Whatever you do on Sunday, fly with your Boston family, or stay at home with your other family, the officers of Council 27 wish you a day of peace. We hope as you remember those wonderful people that we lost, you have more of a smile and a laugh of some happy memory, rather than tears of sadness. Everyone deserves to be remembered, and it is doubtful that they would want to be remembered of with anything less than a smile.
No matter where you are in your life today, if you were a part of Boston then, you are still a part of Boston now. The same statement is true for our friends in Newark. We have lost many wonderful people from our Boston Base over the years, but 9/11 is a day to remember a special group that we lost too soon.
We will never forget.
