It is with deep sadness to inform you of the passing of beloved Flight Attendant, Scott Samson. Scott began flying for Pan Am in Feb. 1979 and was later based in Honolulu for much of his career. In 1998, United furloughed 300 Flight Attendants from the HNL base. Scott selflessly volunteered to go to BOS. In doing so, he allowed a more junior base member to stay on Island. He later transferred to LAX, his final base with United.
Scott will be remembered fondly for his quick wit and genius gift of humor. All that knew him or had the pleasure of sharing a flight with him, carry great memories of a much-loved man and his uncanny ability to bring people together in laughter.
