Holiday Incentive Program

As in the past, United will be instituting the Holiday Incentive Program. Flight Attendants will earn a one-point credit during the holiday season if they satisfy the following conditions:

  • The Flight Attendant is on active status the entire designated holiday period.
  •  The Flight Attendant works a flight segment and/or stands reserve during December 10, 2016 through January 9, 2017, local base time; and
  • The Flight Attendant generates zero attendance points during the same December 10, 2016 through January 9, 2017 period of time

The one point credit will offset the first point-generating occurrence after January 9, 2017.

Support United Flight Attendants This Holiday Season: Special CAUSE Foundation ties and scarves available.

We have a limited number of special Holiday ties and scarves for sale from the CAUSE Foundation. Ties are $10, and scarves are $5. All money collected in the sale of these items will go toward the CAUSE Foundation. These ties and scarves may be worn with your uniform during the month of December. Let one of your Council 14 LEC Officers know if you are interested in purchasing a tie or scarf.

The CAUSE Foundation

For those of you unfamiliar with the CAUSE Foundation, the CAUSE Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization founded in 1994. They are funded solely by your generous contributions via donations received via their website or United Airlines automatic payroll deductions. Funds donated are distributed through an application process to all United Airlines Flight Attendants who are unable to work due to injury, illness or disability. These grants are intended as a short-term bridge until other financial arrangements are in place and cover only basic living expenses.

Yet there is another way to donate this holiday season! Whether you are shopping for the holidays or just buying yourself a new outfit, make sure you place your next online order through Amazon Smile or iGive. When directing your online purchase through one of these sites, the CAUSE Foundation will receive donations each and every time you purchase something online. In other words, while you shop and spend money, you are helping your fellow Flight Attendants by funding the CAUSE Foundation in this convenient method of participating.

iGive

Shopping via iGive is essentially a store rebate program where iGive members have the opportunity to donate their rebate to their chosen cause. To see a list of more than 1,700 retailers visit the iGive website using the CAUSE Foundations iGive special link. Best of all, right now iGive is giving a $5 extra bonus donation during this holiday season.

Amazon Smile

Here's what you'll need to do when you order anything from Amazon.

   •     Visit smile.amazon.com

   •     Register The CAUSE Foundation as your charity (you'll need to scroll down the list. The CAUSE Foundation is the one listed in Aurora, CO)

   •     Instead of going to Amazon.com go to smile.amazon.com whenever you are shopping on Amazon.

   •     The website is exactly the same and the prices are exactly the same, the only difference is a portion of your purchase will go to The CAUSE Foundation.

For more information about the CAUSE Foundation, how to volunteer and how to donate visit their website at www.thecausefoundation.org.
