Some Uniform Items Available at a Discounted Rate:

As a reminder, some current uniform items are available via the Cintas website at a discounted price until 1700 CST on December 30, 2016.  A list of all discounted items and reduced prices can be found on United’s Flying Together Inflight Services uniform pageDon’t forget, any unused points under any of the existing pre-merger programs will not rollover into next year.

January 01, 2017 Electronic Deposit:

As a reminder, our January 1st electronic deposit for our paycheck will be made on the first business day following the New Year holiday, which this year is Tuesday, January 3, 2017. December 16th was the last paycheck we received in 2016. Although our Contract requires that we are paid on the 1st and 16th of the month, the January 1st paycheck is an exception to ensure that income is paid pursuant to IRS regulations in the New Year. This applies to PM United Flight Attendants only.

Don't Forget! Check Your DFAP for Holiday Pay:

To ensure that you have been properly credited for any Holiday Pay you are due, you are encouraged to verify your DFAP in Unimatic after you have either completed your ID or sat on Ready Reserve and was not used during one of our Contractually paid holidays. The Holiday Pay cert code is "061." If you feel there is an error and you should have received Holiday Pay and you did not, contact United payroll via the Flight Attendant Support Team (FAST).

A comprehensive article on Holiday Pay, as it is applied for both Lineholders and Reserves, is available on our website.

Pass Travel Open Enrollment:

Eligible employees and retirees have the opportunity to update their elections for enrolled friend, spouse, or domestic partner beginning December 1st through December 30th at 7:00 PM CST. If you are not making any changes to your enrolled friend, spouse, or domestic partner, no further action is required.

During pass travel enrollment you can:

  • Choose between a second enrolled friend or regular buddy passes
  • Choose your enrolled friend(s) name(s) or delete them from the system to keep slots open to add later in 2017
  • Choose your regular buddy names or keep slots open to add later in 2017

NOTE:  If you currently have buddy passes for 2016 and registered regular buddy pass riders, the names of the regular buddy pass riders will NOT carry over to 2017 and expire on December 31, 2016 at midnight.  Keep in mind, this process does not require a specific enrollment period to register a regular buddy or extended family buddy; however in every instance it is recommended that you allow a minimum of 48 to 72 hours prior to the anticipated travel date for the processing of the registration of any buddy.

Additional information is available from the Travel section of the company’s website under Enrolled Friend. To update your elections, go to the company’s website then Employee Services > My Info > Pass Riders.

PEK Pollution: Masks Available In IAD:

In response to the serious smog situation in PEK, Local Management has made respirator masks available. You may pick up one of these masks from the "concierge" (coordinator) Desk". This is the policy in DCA  for obtaining masks, it may or may not be the procedure in other locations.
