Dear Council 11 Members,
On behalf of all the Officers and Volunteers of Council 11, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season. We are overwhelmed and humbled by the generosity and commitment you all show us every day. We thank you for the support and look forward to serving you throughout 2017.
Local Council Meeting
Our first Council Meeting of 2017 will be held on January 5, at 10:00am in Conference Room 2, Terminal 2. The room is located behind the Virgin America Ticket Counter. This will be the first Local Meeting as a single United Group and we invite all members in Good Standing to attend. We will be discussing all Advanced Agenda Items for the MEC meeting on January 17-19 as well as local business.
Uniform Points
As a reminder, Uniform Points expire on December 31, 2016. Cintas is offering select Uniform Pieces at discounted prices until 1700 on December 30. A list of all discounted items and reduced prices can be found on United’s Flying Together site until the Inflight Services Uniform page.
January 1, 2017, Electronic Deposits
January 1 paychecks are made on the first business day following the New Years Holiday. Since New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday, our first paycheck for 2017 will not be electronically deposited until Tuesday, January 3, 2017. The December 16 paycheck was the last paycheck we received in 2016. Although our Contract provides we are paid on the 1st and 16th of the month, the January 1st paycheck is the exception to ensure that income is paid pursuant to IRS regulations in the New Year. This applies to PM United Flight Attendants only.
Check your DFAP for Holiday Pay
To ensure that you have been properly credited for any Holiday Pay you earned, we encourage you to verify your DFAP in Unimatic after you finish your ID. For those of you Sitting Ready Reserve and not used over the Holiday check your DFAP after Tuesday, December 27, to ensure the pay is there. The Holiday Pay cert code is “061”. If you feel there is an error and you should have received Holiday Pay and you did not, contact United Payroll via the Flight Attendant Support Team (FAST).
Pass Travel Open Enrollment
Eligible employees and retirees can update their election for their enrolled friend, spouse, or domestic partner beginning December 1st through December 30 at 7:00 PM CST. If you are not making any changes, no further action is required. During the pass travel enrollment, you can:
- Choose between a second enrolled friend or regular buddy passes
- Choose your enrolled friend(s) name(s) or delete them from the system to keep slots open to add later in 2017.
- Choose your regular buddy names or keep slots open to add later in 2017.
NOTE: If you currently have buddy passes for 2016 and registered regular buddy pass riders, the names of the regular buddy pass riders will NOT carry over to 2017 and expire on December 31, 2016, at midnight. Keep in mind, this process does not require a specific enrollment period to register a regular buddy or extended family buddy; however, in every instance, it is recommended that you allow a minimum of 48 to 72 hours prior to the anticipated travel date for the processing of the registration of any buddy.
