Dear Flying Partners:
On behalf of all the newly elected Council 12 Officers, we wish you a very Happy New Year.
We’d like to take a moment to recognize the former officers that worked tirelessly on behalf of Flight Attendants. We extend a huge thank you to Cari Kershaw, former President of Council 60, Lynn Statham, former Vice President of Council 12, James Thrombley former Vice President of Council 60, Kathryn Satow, former Secretary of Council 60, and Rocky Ruiz former Council 12 Representative for their valuable contributions to our LAX Family. Although they may continue to serve in a volunteer capacity, we will surely miss them as officers of our Council and can't thank them enough for giving all of us a piece of their lives for so many years.
We start the New Year with combining the membership of Councils 12 & 60 to form the new Council 12 here at LAX. Your elected officers have  committed to serve each and every Flight Attendant in the most prompt, efficient, and respectable way. Change is always difficult especially when everyone is use to a certain way but 2017 marks a new beginning full of opportunities. We all have the opportunity to work on building relationships with each other on a daily basis. We also have the opportunity to prove that we are United in Solidarity for one set of goals. We must take care of each other, implement & enforce our contract, and protect our profession as Flight Attendants.
Our number one priority is to unite our Los Angeles base and make it the best in the system. In order to do that we must make a commitment to stay informed and stay involved. In the coming weeks we will be communicating a series of new initiatives that will serve to promote membership engagement and communication.

The AFA Council 12 Office is located on airport property and is staffed Monday through Friday. Officers are on call 24 hours a day for emergencies and can be reached by calling the AFA Office directly at 310-646-7518. Although representatives will frequently be at the union desk throughout the day, if you are in the LAX Base and need immediate union representation, please call the AFA Office and a representative will meet you in the base within 20 minutes or less.
We look forward to the full implementation of our contract and finally being 100% United, Together. Because we are Stronger Together and we are Better Together!
