Horizon Air Flight Attendants Reach Tentative Agreement on New Contract
October 20, 2003
PORTLAND, OR -Flight attendants at Horizon Air, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with airline management.
"The negotiations weren't easy and we had to struggle to get what we deserve. But in the end, this tentative agreement provides for pay raises and significant scheduling improvements," said Bev Moss, AFA Horizon Master Executive Council President and a Horizon flight attendant. "Support from our members enabled us to reach an agreement that is good for both the flight attendants and the airline during this turbulent time in our industry."
Before the tentative agreement can be final, AFA member Horizon flight attendants must vote on the deal. That vote is currently being scheduled. Details of the tentative contract will be distributed to the flight attendants before being made available to the public.
Horizon Air flight attendants join together in AFA, the world's largest flight attendant union, representing 36,000 flight attendants at 26 airlines. Visit us at www.afanet.org.
