Frontier Flight Attendants File for Union Election
April 29, 2005
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO, filed a petition with the National Mediation Board to hold an election for union representation on behalf of Frontier's flight attendants.
Over 750 Frontier flight attendants, based in Denver, Colorado, would be represented by the AFA if a majority of employees vote to support a union. "This is exactly the right move by these employees, at the right time," said Patricia Friend, AFA's national president. "And they chose the right union to help give them a voice when they need it the most. We look forward to having them join with tens of thousands flight attendants who already have our union fighting for their interests."
The National Mediation Board is the federal agency that oversees union representation elections in the airline industry. The NMB will set the date for the secret ballot election once the cards filed have been validated.
More than 46,000 Flight Attendants join together to form AFA, the world’s largest Flight Attendant union. AFA is part of the 700,000 member strong Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO. Visit us at www.afanet.org.
