(CAL) MEC Update on General Grievance

Date: April 1, 2016

Dear Flight Attendants,

We would like to share with you more information that pertains to the General Grievance filed regarding aircraft allocation provisions in our Letter of Agreement 38.

In addition to the discovery of one existing 787 that will be returning to sUA Flight Attendants, along with the next two 787 deliveries: it was found that three of our 787 orders were modified to three 777-300ERs. These three new 777s are tentatively scheduled to enter service in the beginning of the first quarter of 2017.

This results in the SFO-TPE-SFO flying transitioning from the sCO SFI base to the sUA SFO base this August when the next two 787’s are delivered and allocated to sUA Flight Attendants.

It is not yet determined what routes the first three sCO 777-300ERs will be scheduled to fly. As soon as we become privy to that information, we will promptly pass it on to you.

We are looking forward to our agreed upon arrangement to meet with management and United AFA monthly, beginning in April, to discuss any upcoming changes to the fleet and to be a part of the process to ensure aircraft are properly allocated according to our collective agreements.

Thank you for your support and patience as we worked through this grievance process with United management.

In Solidarity,

Randy Hatifeld
AFA Continental MEC President
Association of Flight Attendants – CWA
