Clarification of Reserve Reassignments while at the Home Domicile
November 20, 2018
Our article in last Friday’s E-lines addressing the reassignment provisions while Flight Attendants are at their home domicile may have caused some unintentional confusion.
Reserves whose flights cancel while they are still at the home domicile are subject to reassignment as a Reserve. There are a number of circumstances which can cause the loss of all or part of our pairing, with weather being one of them.
Reassignments before leaving the home domicile fall within the following parameters:
A Reserve who arrives at their Base for their originally scheduled pairing only to find that the pairing has cancelled is subject to the following reassignment provisions:
1. The Reserve may be reassigned to another pairing provided the pairing to which reassigned comports with the duty time maximum for the duty day to which assigned, or
2. The Reserve may be reassigned to airport standby with the start time for the airport standby period based on her/his original check-in time, or
3. The Reserve may be released and sent home with CALL OUT pay.If you have additional questions, please contact your Local Council office.
