German Public Sector Strike May Affect Air Travel and Public Transportation

The Labor Union Verdi representing German Public Sector Works said Ground Staff and some Fire Services Staff will be on strike Tuesday, April 10, 2018 between the hours of 5am to 6pm local time. The airports where the Verdi Members will be striking are Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne, and Bremen Airports. These airports will have limited security and Ground Staff personnel.

Public transport, swimming pools, garbage collection, and childcare facilities are also areas that have been affected by this strike resulting from this latest pay dispute.

If you are pass traveling be aware that flights and public transit will be affected and hotel rooms will be difficult to acquire in those cities where the delays are expected to impact the airports listed above.
