The Janus Decision – What it means for all of us

AFA United MEC President
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Citing a violation of First Amendment rights, the United States Supreme Court today ruled that public sector unions cannot charge fair-share fees to non-members. The 5-4 majority opinion of the court in Janus v. AFSCME Council 31 has far reaching implications beyond this union member and the Council. This decision deals a blow to all of our freedoms as citizens of the United States of America.
Please review Ken Diaz’s letter on what Janus means to all of us and how each of us will play an important role in safeguarding our collective future.
