Safety Health and Security Training Concludes in Chicago

Date: August 10, 2018

Our MEC Safety, Health and Security Committee concluded our annual training seminar this week, August 7-9, in Chicago. Over forty (40) of our flying partners from across the system were in attendance; some new to their Local Safety Committees, and many, long time Local Council Safety Committee members. The MEC SHS provided updates on their work, and provided insight on many of their more recent initiatives. Representatives from the AFA International Air Safety, Health and Security Department spoke about their ongoing work including the “2Hot2Cold” initiative. Fellow Union counterparts, including ALPA Central Safety, and the AFA MEC EAP Committee also gave presentations and talked with our newest volunteers about their safety concerns. Your Local Council Safety, Health and Security Committee volunteers left with additional skills and resources. We thank these hard-working and dedicated volunteers for their service to their fellow flying partners.
