Trading Premium Positions and Crew Scheduling Notification
October 8, 2019
Questions regarding the trading of work positions onboard the aircraft persist. For clarification, Flight Attendants who exchange (trade) one of the four premium pay positions while onboard the aircraft should try to contact Crew Scheduling prior to departure to advise of the trade. These four premium positions include:
- International Purser
- Language Qualified (LQ) Flight Attendant(s)
- Galley position(s) on widebody or 757 aircraft
Flight Attendants who are unable to contact Crew Scheduling prior to departure, or those who are in the middle of a pairing and who assume any of the premium paid position(s) should submit an Override Pay Exception at their first opportunity, via Hub Help.
Effective with the implementation of our JCBA, October 1, 2018, Flight Attendants who trade non-premium paid positions onboard are not required to inform or call Crew Scheduling.
Information regarding premium paid positions is found in the Established Staffing Guidelines available on Flying Together > Inflight Services > Policies and Procedures > Established Staffing Guidelines (ESG) policy.
