737 MAX Aircraft Out of Schedule until November 3, 2019
July 12, 2019
Late in the day on Friday, July 12, 2019, United management announced that the 737 MAX aircraft will be out of schedule until November 3rd. In addition to that announcement, management provided additional detail about the impact of the removal of these aircraft from schedule on our daily and monthly operation. While the number of aircraft originally taken out of service was 14, the corporation had planned for the delivery of additional MAX aircraft during August, September and October as outlined in the following chart:
Flights Per Day
Flights Per Month
It is important to understand that management will be taking extraordinary steps to protect the travel plans of passengers and will explore the necessary adjustment to the aircraft schedule to ensure the continued operation or our airline which will likely result in the use of different aircraft on certain scheduled flights.
We anticipate, given this reduction in flying coupled with the suspension of service to New Delhi and Mumbai, there will likely be opportunities for discretionary time off in the weeks and months ahead. Keep an eye out for these announcements in the days ahead.
