9/11 Memorial Museum Recognizes Flight Crewmembers During 2019 Aviation Week

Date: August 7, 2019

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum will recognize National Aviation Week (August 19-25, 2019) by providing free access to the Memorial Museum to active and retired crewmembers. Throughout the week, the Museum will feature flight crew-themed auditorium programming to highlight this chapter in aviation history and share these stories with Museum visitors.

Active and retired crewmembers are invited to visit the Museum without charge during regular operating hours during the period from August 19–25. Onsite ticketing only. A valid ID, such as a company identification card, is required for active crewmembers. Retired crewmembers who don’t have identification will be asked to complete a verification form.

AFA along with our Members and all aviation personnel appreciate not only this week of recognition but also the focus on the role of our hero safety professionals and first responders during the historic events of September 11th 2001.

We encourage the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to recognize aviation's first responders year-round as we continue to serve in the wake of September 11th with the responsibility as aviation's last line of defense. As we do each year on September 11, AFA will remember those who perished on that day and our AFA Honor Guard will lay flowers of remembrance at the memorial on that day.
