Local Council Elections are important because you, the Members, determine the representatives that will support you and the Membership at your Local Council. Local Executive Council (LEC) Presidents are locally elected and serve as Members of AFA's governing Board of Directors (BOD). As part of their representational role, these locally elected representatives elect International AFA-CWA Officers, determine the Union’s priorities, approve the Union’s budget, oversee all Union activities and, where necessary to accomplish the goals of the Union based on the priorities of the Membership, take action to amend AFA-CWA's Constitution and Bylaws.

For complete details concerning the Local Council election process visit the following E-lines publication, dated January 30, 2019 or by downloading the AFA Election Handbook.

If you have any questions about election process or you need to request a duplicate ballot, call the AFA-CWA Ballot Help-Line at 800-424-2401, extension 706.
