April Schedule Development Updates
March 15, 2020
Given the rapid changes impacting United’s global schedule as a result of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), Network Planning continues to make necessary modifications to the aircraft schedule in order to provide the most current aircraft schedule with which to build April schedules for Flight Attendants and pilots.
April bid schedule
In light of these continuing changes, the timeline for bidding April schedules will be further delayed beyond March 17. The company and your AFA leadership are working to develop a new timeline for April schedules that will be based on receipt of a final April aircraft schedule. We will communicate the updates to you as soon as they are available.
Over the last couple of days, we’ve received reports that many of you have had difficulty revising submitted Special COLA requests. As of this afternoon, management has advised AFA that these source of these problems have been identified and corrected. You should be able to submit requests to make changes to COLA requests that are on file.
Given the delay in the schedule development timeline as well as the rapidly changing events in the world and the communities in which we live, management will extend the period during which you are able to submit Special COLA request for the April bid month (1-month, 2-month and 6-month) as well as the May 1-month Special COLA. The date by which these requests must be submitted is now Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 08:00 a.m. CT.
Given the changes to the schedule, management will also extend the window for Flight Attendants to request a Vacation Fly-Through for the month of April.
Requests for a Vacation Fly-Through must now be submitted by Monday, March 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. HDT.
As additional vacation becomes available, we will share that with you.
