Call Congress – There is nothing more important!

There is nothing we can do these next eight days that can be more important than continuing to reach out to our elected representatives in Washington, D.C. to ensure their support of a clean extension of the CARES Act and the Payroll Support Program (PSP).

Inaction is not an option and the efforts of Flight Attendants to encourage support are making an impact.

There is growing support for a full relief bill. While everyone “supports us”, true support for the American worker comes in the form of a relief bill. Every Flight Attendant, regardless of status, need to make a commitment to Take Action every day until October 1st.

Call Congress

Make three calls every day. One to your Representative and two to your Senators.

SENATE: 888-848-4824

HOUSE: 888-907-9365

"Hello, I am a constituent calling to tell my (Senator/Representative) that aviation workers need a relief package before October 1 to stop mass job loss and cuts to small airports that also hurt veterans and other Americans who count on air service to get their medicines in the mail. Both parties and the White House are on record with overwhelming support for an extension to the Payroll Support Program for essential workers and to keep service in place to small communities. But words of support won’t keep us flying or help us pay our bills. We need a COVID-19 relief package with our payroll support passed TODAY. In [12] days we’re out of work and millions are hurting without this relief! Keep us connected to our jobs, paychecks, & healthcare. We are counting on you. Thank you.”

Tweet Your Representative and Senators (add pictures of you in uniform to each!):

Third Trimester CBT – Consider Completing It Before Beginning any Time Away

The Third Trimester CBT is now available for completion and is required to be completed by, October 30, 2020 - 2359 Central Standard Time. Log into TakeOff Learning and select Continuing Qualifications (CQ) 2020 Trimester 3.

This CBT session is anticipated to take approximately three (3) hours to complete. As provided for under our Contract in Section 11.B.2, Flight Attendants will be compensated at one (1:00) hour flight time credit for every three (3:00) hours, prorated. In no case shall a Flight Attendant receive less than one-hour (1:00) flight time pay and credit.

There have been many questions from those who have taken a voluntary furlough as well as from the those who are potentially subject to involuntary furlough asking if they are required to complete the CBT prior to the start of their respective furlough period. It’s important to understand, one way or the other, you will be required to complete the CBT before your return to flight duty following your period of furlough. For these reasons, we encourage you to consider completing the CBT before you begin any period of time away from the workplace as it will make your return to service easier in the long run.

Fall Regular Meeting of the United Master Executive Council - October 20 – 22, 2020.

The Fall Regular Meeting of the United Master Executive Council will take place in Billings, Montana Tuesday, October 20 thru October 22 at the Northern Hotel. This will be a closed meeting. Montana is one of the United States with the lowest number of instances of COVID-19. As we continue our efforts to social distance and because meeting in Chicago is not yet permissible, we searched the United States for an economical location to hold our meeting. Your Local Council Presidents from around our system will address the business of our Union and the issues that are important to you in the first in-person meeting since January of this year.

We encourage Members to witness our democratic process by attending their Local Council meetings. Schedule times for your Local Council’s meeting will be posted on our website as they become available.
