Covid-19 Vaccination Card

Date: November 5, 2021

As a reminder, effective September 27, 2021, COVID-19 vaccination cards became required duty items for U.S. based Flight Attendants not participating in the Reasonable Accommodation Process, regardless of status as a Lineholder or Reserve and without regard to the destination of your flight assignment.

At several International destinations, local authorities are requiring that you provide proof and will request to see your original vaccination card.

Your original vaccination card is your primary proof of vaccination.  If you are in the process of obtaining or replacing your card, in the interim, you may use one of the following:

  • A picture or photocopy of your original vaccination card, or
  • The PeopleSoft™ Vaccination Pass from Flying Together.

Having said this, you should obtain the most up to date information about country-specific entry requirements from the COVID-19 page on Flying Together at:

Flying Together >> Our Airline >> COVID-19 (Coronavirus) >> Crew Travel Restrictions

If you do not have your vaccination card with you as you prepare to fly into these countries, you must contact Crew Scheduling to be removed from pairing without pay.

We also want to acknowledge that we have received a number of questions asking if laminating vaccine cards is permissible. Once you have laminated the vaccination card, any booster information cannot then be recorded on that card. You will likely be required to obtain a new vaccination card if the booster becomes required and you have laminated your vaccination record. Any subsequently required boosters are included as part of United’s Policy.

At this time, we recommend you hold off on entering any Covid-19 Booster Vaccination information into the company’s computer system because programming is not compatible to receive this information.

If you have lost or misplaced your vaccination card and require a replacement, you should contact your vaccine provider for more information.

If you have additional questions, please contact your Local Council office for assistance.
