Consider Your Own Needs First During the Holiday Season
December 10, 2021
From time to time, everyone experiences personal, family, or work-related problems. And it is not unusual for the stress and demands of the holiday season to increase the probability that these issues will arise.
Sometimes, these problems can overwhelm our traditional, more typical coping strategies and especially during the Holiday Season, these problems can seem magnified. Support from trained peers may prove helpful to reduce the stress and increase the acceptance of the demands in the holiday period.
The Association of Flight Attendants Employee Assistance Program (AFA EAP) is a confidential resource available to Members, their families, and their partners to assist with personal, as well as work-related concerns.
No one ever needs to be alone in finding solutions to their problems, give the AFA EAP a call if you are struggling with:
- Family issues, Divorce, or Concerns with Family Member(s)
- Co-Worker Conflict(s)
- Emotional/Psychological Issues such as Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorder, Loss/Grief, Thoughts of Suicide
- Physical Assault, Trauma, or Aircraft Emergencies
- Job-Related Stress
- Alcohol/Chemical Dependency and Recovery Issues
In addition, our AFA EAP recognizes common holiday stressors and offers some suggestions for managing them on their AFA EAP Resource Page.
Providing services to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of our Union family with the highest quality of peer support services available within the context of EAP is a prime objective of our Union. For more information, visit our AFA EAP committee page on the unitedafa.org website.
