Company Email Retention Change

Recent communications from United’s HR department advised employees of the company’s plan to re-institute a system wide Email Retention Policy later this year. United is establishing this policy change to minimize the growth of electronic data while, at the same time, managing the cost of resources necessary to store unused data. We want to ensure that you are aware of this impending change in the event you have information in your company e-mail account that you wish to secure for later reference.

The Email Retention Policy will be conducted in a phased rollout throughout 2021. We encourage you to review past emails and archive anything relevant to ensure older correspondence, that is more than one-year old, is not deleted in the clean-up. Moving forward it is good practice to print copies of any important emails, (i.e. conversations with supervisors, report receipts, necessary documents) and keep a copy for your personal records.
