A Return to Our Traditional Boarding & Deplaning Processes

Date: July 6, 2021

In an ongoing effort to keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic one of the changes United made was to have passengers board and deplane the aircraft in a very methodical, metered fashion, by rows, to minimize the number of people up and in the aisle at the same time.

As we make progress in the worldwide effort to fight to the COVID-19 virus and return to a more normal flying experience, United has decided to make a change to remove the requirement to meter how passengers board and leave the aircraft. For example, recently, United began boarding by groups with a renewed focus on premium passengers.

Beginning July 6, 2021, we will return to our previous deplaning procedures. There will no longer be a need to make announcements asking customer to deplane by groups or specific rows.

Announcements will be pushed to your company issued LINK device with a notification advising you of an update to the COVID-19 Announcement Guide version in the Manuals app. Questions of concerns should be directed to your Local Council Safety Committee.
