Vaccination Cards as Required Duty Items

Date: August 20, 2021

In an Inflight Service Safety Alert today, management announced effective September 1, 2021 that the COVID-19 vaccination card will be considered a required duty item when operating flights to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Iceland, India and Peru and for Flight Attendants on Reserve status at bases where flying to these destinations is assigned.  It should be noted that the list of countries having this requirement is subject to change on short notice based on ever-changing international crew requirements.

Worldwide restrictions and requirements as it pertains to COVID-19 are evolving and changing rapidly, even here in the United States.  It’s for this reason management recommends that you carry your original COVID-19 vaccine card with you at all times while working.  Be certain to protect your vaccination card as you would your passport.

For the most up to date information about country specific entry requirements, go to Flying Together >> Our Airline >> COVID-19 (Coronavirus) > Crew Travel Restrictions.

If you are not in possession of the original COVID-19 vaccination card as you prepare to travel to any of these countries, you must contact Crew Scheduling to be removed from the flight, without pay.

If you have additional questions, please contact your Local Council.
