Pfizer-BioNTech Coronavirus Vaccine Earns Full FDA Approval

Date: August 24, 2021

Federal regulators Monday granted full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine.  This milestone means that all U.S.-based employees will now be required to be vaccinated by and demonstrate proof of vaccination within five weeks from August 23, 2021 or by September 27, 2021.

We want to emphasize the last date to begin the series is for the first of the two-shot series or, as is the case with J & J, the single shot must be administered.  The following chart details the last date by which the series of vaccine you select must be administered:

We are learning the J & J vaccine, which is becoming slightly more difficult to secure, may be administered on the vaccination due date of September 27, 2021.

In addition to receiving the vaccine, every U.S. based United employee, including Guam and Puerto Rico, will be required to receive a COVID-19 vaccine of choice and upload their vaccination record to Flying Together by September 27, 2021.
