Former Frontier Airlines Retirees - Reactivating Travel with United Airlines

We received questions from some former Frontier Airlines Flight Attendants who report that their ability to list for travel has recently been deactivated about the procedures they should use to get those restored.

We’ve recently learned that within the past month, United management deactivated the travel profiles of the former Frontier Flight Attendants in order to drive contact with the Employee Travel Center (ETC) in order to verify information on file with the company. The company needs to hear from these retired employees in order to collect the information they need to report imputed income on enrolled friend travel in order to comply with IRS regulations. Retirees may, as provided in company policy, add up to two enrolled friends twice per year.

In order to provide that benefit, United needs specific information on file to be able to calculate and report the imputed income. At the end of each year, where applicable, the company will send a 1099 form for tax reporting purposes to these retirees for all travel provided to Enrolled Friends.

In order to reactivate travel, these retires should complete the following process:

Send an e-mail to United Airlines Employee Travel Center at etc@united.com identifying themselves as a former Frontier Retiree and provide the following information:

  • Name
  • Frontier Employee #
  • Mailing Address
  • Telephone
  • E-mail address
  • Social Security #
