Day at a Time Vacation

Date: April 8, 2022

Scheduling flexibility is one of the valuable tools in our Contract. One of these tools is Day at a Time Vacation (DATV).

Section 12.J. provides Flight Attendants with the opportunity to use Day at a Time (DATV), that is, up to ten (10) vacation days in each scheduled vacation year separate from her/his awarded vacation period(s). When doing so, Day at a Time (DATV) will be deducted from the Flight Attendant’s accrued allotment in the following scheduled vacation year.

DATV is awarded in seniority order, after the award of vacation relief lines and before the beginning of the month. Additionally, DATV days will be available throughout the month to the extent that regular personal drops are available and day at time vacation days have equal priority.

It is important to remember, day at a time vacation may not be made-up (Section 12.J.6.).

Further, a Flight Attendant awarded day at a time vacation shall have her/his minimum monthly guarantee and/or line guarantee reduced accordingly.
