AFA-CWA Celebrates LGBTQIA PRIDE Month
June 3, 2022
June is the month in which we further celebrate our diversity with PRIDE for all our LGBTQIA Union brothers, sisters and family Members, community, and friends. PRIDE is an outward statement of love and a symbol of our collective resilience.
In honor of the Stonewall riots in 1969 through the celebration of the first gay pride parade in 1970, across the nation, from Chicago to New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, PRIDE month has empowered the fight for equality, inclusion, and visibility as it reinforces the importance of equal opportunities and rights for all.
Through our Union, we stand together advocating for the rights of all individuals to enhance our workplace and our Flight Attendant community. Like the colors presented on the PRIDE flag, AFA supports the entire spectrum of individuals as it is our diversity that makes us stronger and better together. We are proud. We are diverse. We are AFA! Our official AFA pin for the month of June is the AFA Pride Pin. If you don’t have one, contact your Local Council office to obtain one.
