Strengthening our Solidarity: Red Leads the Way

Starting June 1, 2023, the United Master Executive Council has authorized the customization of the official color of the AFA pin to the color red as a sign of Solidarity among the Membership in support of negotiating an agreement that recognizes the Flight Attendants’ integral role in the success of United Airlines.

Over the last 18 months, our Union leadership has recognized that management is committed to concessions rather than discussing the Flight Attendant Collective Bargaining Agreement terms and conditions associated with a world-class, global airline. Our Flight Attendants deserve so much more than the status quo and have earned more than an industry-standard Contract.

In our resolution today, we reaffirm our commitment to achieving the priorities and goals identified by our Flight Attendants who stand in Solidarity, speak with one voice, and demand the attention of management in understanding “my Negotiating Committee speaks for me”.

All in we win, be ready to wear your red pin!

AFA Supplemental Benefits Open Enrollment

It's that time of the year again when United AFA Members can enroll in voluntary supplemental benefits.  To make sure our Members have access to competitively priced and valuable products, AFA regularly surveys the insurance marketplace.

We're happy to announce that, in partnership with Allstate Products via Design Benefits and Continental American Insurance Company (CAIC) products via National Group Protection, we'll be offering enhanced plans to all United AFA Members, just like we've done in the past.

Our annual open enrollment will take place from May 8 to May 26, 2023.

To learn more, keep an eye out for further details on our website or check out the supplemental benefits information on our MEC website.

May 12th United Airlines Pilots Nationwide Informational Picket

On Friday, May 12, 2023 there will be a nationwide, informational picket to demonstrate the United Pilot’s resolve and solidarity to achieve an industry leading contract. The event is open to all pilot groups and all airline labor groups.

We encourage you to join our Union siblings, in full uniform, in a show of solidarity. When we support each other at our events, we become stronger than we could on our own. We are all in this together, and we’re not done until we all have an Industry Leading Contract ratified by our collective Memberships.

A part of the pilot informational picketing structure is a captain briefing, which outlines the specifics of what to expect and what to do.

It cannot be overstated enough, our strength and power come directly from our solidarity, and that solidarity extends beyond just our Flight Attendants.  Information on the location, time and other details are available through the link below.

AFA Welcomes Class 2310

On behalf of our Union, we extend a warm welcome to the newest Members of our Flight Attendant family. As safety experts, we know the importance of a cohesive team in ensuring the safety and security of our passengers. We are thrilled to have the new flying partners on board and look forward to working together with them to maintain the highest standards of safety in the aviation industry.

Our newest flying partners will begin their careers at Domiciles in BOS, CLE, IAD, and SFO.

Their professionalism, in-depth understanding of our experiences, and eagerness to be part of our community were all sources of encouragement for us. We firmly believe that these new members will enhance our profession with their unique talents and abilities, thereby strengthening our collective expertise.

As safety professionals, we must ensure that our newest Members are provided with accurate information to support them during their probation period. We encourage you to direct them to their AFA Local Council for assistance on Contractual issues. This will ensure they receive the guidance they need to succeed in their new role and uphold the highest safety standards.

We encourage each of you to welcome our new flying partners and help them learn from your experience. Let's work together to ensure their success and pave the way for their continued growth and development as safety professionals in the aviation industry.
