Company and Union Joint Statement – Trip Parking
In a joint statement issued today between the company and the Union, it was announced that the issue of “Trip Parking” has been addressed by a neutral arbitrator. The arbitrator has determined that Trip Parking is not permissible under the current Contract and may result in termination.
We encourage all Flight Attendants to review this Joint Statement. A copy of the “Trip Parking – Joint Statement” is located on both the AFA and company’s websites.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
We would like to draw your attention to an important cause that affects the lives of countless women around the world. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about this silent and often deadly disease.
Ovarian cancer is often referred to as the "silent killer" because it can develop without showing noticeable symptoms until it reaches an advanced stage. This lack of early warning signs makes it crucial for us to spread awareness and advocate for early detection and prevention.
According to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance and American Cancer Society, here are some key facts about ovarian cancer that we should all be aware of:
· Early Detection Saves Lives: Ovarian cancer can be challenging to detect in its early stages, but when it is caught early, the survival rate significantly improves.
· Know the Symptoms: While ovarian cancer can be asymptomatic in the early stages, it's essential to recognize potential warning signs.
· Risk Factors: Understanding the risk factors, including a family history of ovarian or breast cancer, can help individuals take proactive steps towards prevention.
· Advocate for Research: Ovarian cancer research is ongoing, and supporting organizations and initiatives that fund research efforts can make a significant impact on the development of early detection methods and effective treatments.
· Spread the Word: One of the most powerful ways to make a difference is by spreading awareness. Share information about ovarian cancer on your social media platforms, engage in conversations, and encourage others to learn more about this critical issue.
During National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, we stand in solidarity with the brave women fighting this terrible disease. We honor the mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, and friends we have tragically lost.

SkyWest Illegally Fired Union Organizers – SIGN THE PETITION
Last week, SkyWest management took illegal action by terminating two Union advocates. In response, our Union acted swiftly, both legally and publicly.
SkyWest Union activists have been organizing for AFA in the face of serious interference from management. We urge all Members to sign and share this petition.
Shane and Tresa, through their courageous actions, uncovered a significant security flaw in the company-sponsored voting system. They fearlessly raised their voices to alert their flying partners to this issue, highlighting how vulnerable votes can be to manipulation. We demand that SkyWest immediately rehire Shane and Tresa and cease efforts to intimidate workers legally working to form a union.
It is crucial to emphasize that the company should have no involvement in "union voting" in any capacity. Under the Railway Labor Act, it is explicitly prohibited for management to interfere, influence, or coerce Flight Attendants in choosing their Union representative.
