Attendance Bonus Point Incentive Program Implemented

New Programs tie together the Fourth of July Holiday and Transition-to-Common-Metal Periods
In an effort to recognize Flight Attendants with perfect attendance during the upcoming 4th of July holiday period July 1, 2018 through July 7, 2018 and during the designated transition-to-common-metal period, September 27, 2018 through October 8, 2018, AFA and the company have agreed to implement a Bonus Point Incentive program. Flight Attendants who meet the criteria listed below in both of the holiday periods, will earn ½ point for each holiday period and will be credited with one attendance Bonus Point that can be used to offset the first point generating occurrence after October 31, 2018.

This policy applies to all Flight Attendants regardless of pre-merger affiliation now that Section 23 of the JCBA has been implemented and coupons have been discontinued.

During each of the designated periods, Flight Attendants must meet the following criteria to be awarded the attendance point credit:

  • Flight Attendants must be on active status during the designated periods.
  • Flight Attendants must work a flight segment or stand Reserve during the specified period.
  • Flight Attendants must not receive any attendance point(s) during the designated time periods
  • Flight Attendants must not have an active Attendance Warning 4 at the time the credit is issued on October 31, 2018.

It is important to understand that this bonus point program is somewhat different from previous programs in that Flight Attendants meeting the attendance criteria in each of the two designated periods will earn ½ bonus point credit per period.  If attendance criteria are met in both of these periods, Flight Attendants will be credited with one bonus incentive point that will offset the first point generating occurrence after October 31, 2018. Please be sure to read the program details carefully.
