Do Your Part to Bridge the Gap – Join us at Washington Reagan Airport on November 19, 2019
Flight Attendants, whether at mainline or regional air carriers, are aviation’s first responders responsible to ensure the well-being, safety and security of the passengers entrusted to our care. While we work on different aircraft traveling to different cities, there are so many aspects of the job we do as well as our working conditions that are similar. As such, all Flight Attendants have earned the right to be treated with the same respect and should be paid fairly recognizing our hard work and contributions to the success of the airlines for which we work. Disrespect and discrimination have no place in the aircraft cabin or within our profession. A harm to one is a harm to all. A career dedicated in the service of the passengers we care for daily should be recognized with rest and work rules, affordable health care, a living wage and a reasonable retirement.
Our Union’s Bridge the Gap campaign is dedicated to ending the discriminatory wage and work rule policies that Flight Attendants at regional air carriers face as compared to those of Flight Attendants working at mainline carriers. As with all of the priorities we establish as Flight Attendants, when we stand together, we are stronger. Together, we can accomplish our goals and objectives.
Next week we will have the opportunity to stand with our Sisters and Brothers at regional air carriers to focus attention on our campaign to Bridge the Gap. If you are in Washington, D.C. next week or living in the D.C. area, we ask you to stop by Regan National Airport at 11:00 am to show management and flying public we support these efforts and to demonstrate the true Power of our Solidarity.
