Effective as of July 30, 2020 and despite the fact that the FAA views us as being qualified on all aircraft for up to a 13-month period, United will now require you to review a fleet specific door-arming/disarming video in the Door Operation App on your Link device prior to working any aircraft if sixty (60) days or more have passed since you last worked on that specific aircraft type.

CCS messages will be sent to you reminding you of the 60-day requirement to watch the video prior to your next flight assignment.

Citing the reduction in flying and the longer periods of time elapsed between having flown different aircraft types, the requirement has been reduced from 90 days to 60 days.  By doing so, there is a belief that this will assist in the overall effort to reduce inadvertent slide deployments (ISDs).
