The Association of Flight Attendant-CWA’s legislative goals and effective presence on Capitol Hill would not be possible without the voluntary contributions Flight Attendants make to FlightPAC, AFA’s political action committee.
FlightPAC was established in 1982 to promote aviation safety, protect and enhance Flight Attendant working conditions, safeguard the rights of representation through labor unions and promote progressive labor and social legislation.
By contributing to FlightPAC, you invest in your future and assist in the pursuit of legislation designed to improve our work environment and secure the future of our profession.
Today, we are finding it increasingly necessary to approach the United States Congress to amend Federal Aviation Regulations which affect our workplace. That is why it becomes increasingly important to help elect and keep in office those candidates and incumbents who share our concerns about Flight Attendant health and safety.
There is a growing awareness among Flight Attendants of the importance of legislative and political action. And there is a growing recognition that we can be effective.
Through your contribution to FlightPAC, you can demonstrate that AFA members are unified in their determination to support candidates in Congress who listen and respond to Flight Attendant needs.
No matter where you are based or your political affiliation, decisions made by the United States Congress have an impact on the aviation industry and our work environment.
FlightPAC will contribute funds, on a bi-partisan basis, to incumbents and candidates who support Flight Attendants and our Union on various issues. These issues have included the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), OSHA protection for Flight Attendants, the 10-hour minimum rest requirement and implementation of a Fatigue Risk Management Plan, the Flight Attendant Drug and Alcohol Program (FADAP), KCM, as well as others.
You can demonstrate your commitment to improving our profession and promoting aviation safety by investing in your future through FlightPAC.
