It is important to recognize pre-month requests for DATV and those in the operation are handled separately.

Pre-month DATV, when available, is granted after the award of Vacation Relief Lines (VRL) and before the beginning of the month in seniority order.  The decision to award these DATs is made based on operational coverage and direction is provided to the FAST.

Any DATV requests submitted after pre-month DATV has been awarded and before the new month begins are automatically removed from CCS once the new month begins and are not considered for operational awards.

Operational DATV is considered on a daily basis by Crew Scheduling once the new month begins and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis the day before the requested date to the same extent that personal drops (PDs) are available.

Operational DATV must be submitted according to the same timeline as PD requests; that is, starting at 0001 of the calendar day prior to the date requested. For example, if requesting operational DATV for October 10th, you may submit the request starting at 0001 on October 9th.
