MEC Grievance Committee
A Flight Attendant’s Work History tells the story of each Member's time here at United Airlines. It is a record of customer and company accolades, complaints, point occurrences, counselings, attendance, and performance warnings (discipline). It also contains dates for the beginning and end of any leaves of absence you may have taken and miscellaneous comments. Your Work History is a part of your Personnel File, and the notations made in your Work History are supported by documents placed in your Personnel File following Section 22 of our JCBA.
JCBA Section 22.A.4. was negotiated to allow Flight Attendants the ability to access their individual work records electronically. Work History is divided into two sections: Work History and Work History Record, which can be viewed on CCS under the Work History tab. Flight Attendants are encouraged to check their Work History often. It is in our best interest to ensure that all entries are correct. When discrepancies are found the Flight Attendant should promptly contact their supervisor with their concern. If the issue persists the next step would be to involve the Local Council for support and guidance.
As a part of the documentation process, when the company receives a complimentary letter and the Flight Attendant who is the subject of the compliment is clearly identified, the company is to notify the Flight Attendant and place the letter in their Personnel File. Likewise, the same applies if the Flight Attendant receives a complaint letter. (JCBA Sec. 22.C.1.) Complimentary, complaint or disciplinary letters that are considered expired should be removed from the Flight Attendant's Personnel File and returned to the Flight Attendant.
Flight Attendants may request a Work History review by notifying their supervisor and confirming a mutually agreeable time to review. Flight Attendants may also receive a hard copy of their Personnel File upon request (JCBA Section 22.A.5.).
If you find any discrepancies or expired entries that pertain to attendance points, Work History entries, or comments shown that cannot be resolved, immediately contact your Local Council Grievance Committee for assistance. Even if you don’t notice any discrepancies in your Work History, take some time to review Section 22 of our JCBA and familiarize yourself with your Work History.
