“On behalf of all the Flight Attendants; Give us the tools we need to protect you! This is not a Republican or Democratic Issue, this is an American issue, common sense safety”.
The Saracini Aviation Safety Act, named in honor of United Airlines Captain Victor J. Saracini, calls for lightweight, wire-mesh gates to be installed on existing planes between the passenger cabin and cockpit door. The mesh would block access to the flight deck whenever it would be necessary to open the flight deck door and serve as a secondary barrier. Earlier this year federal legislation mandated the requirement for all new aircraft to be equipped with the secondary barriers.
