 December 31, 2024

Dear Flying Partners,

The new year provides an opportunity for a fresh start. It’s a time when many of us make the most of this fresh start by making a New Year’s resolution to do something different by setting a positive goal to achieve for ourselves. Our Union is no different. No matter how many pages of the calendar we turn, we can’t ignore our past; it serves as the foundation upon which to build for the future. As individuals and collectively as a Union, we take advantage of these opportunities to build something better. I look to 2025 as an opportunity to try new things and explore creative ways to build our Union for the bright future we have ahead.

This past year, we stood together in solidarity. In the coming year, it is with the same steadfast tenacity that our expectations for a brighter future remain the same. As a united front, we will continue to speak with one voice. We will continue standing together, advocating for our rights, and facing any challenges head-on together as one.

As we seek the much-needed changes in our careers, we must address our protracted Contract negotiations. The current process under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) is outdated, and we have all been feeling the effects. My commitment to you as your Master Executive Council President remains strong; we will continue to fight for the priorities you have identified as crucial for the future of our careers. We will not accept any concessions in a new Contract!

Change is a necessary part of life. It is the mark of adaptability and our ability to grow as a Union, meeting the needs of all Members. Looking forward, our vision for the future is clear. We have the power to demand improvements, and we will shape the future of our industry together. Our contributions foster a more equitable and improved workplace because we are the catalyst for change.

As we navigate this next chapter, we will thrive in the hope and confidence our unity provides. We will face significant challenges ahead, but it is nothing our resolve cannot defeat. Our Solidarity will continue to drive our determination to achieve what we have earned.

Thank you for your dedication and solidarity towards another year of Union strength in leading our industry forward. I look forward to the promise of what 2025 will bring us.

In Solidarity,

Ken Diaz, President
United Master Executive Council
