Optional Eye and Face Protection Approved Beginning September 3

Flight Attendants requesting the ability to wear eye protection and face shields will now have the option to do so, beginning September 3, 2020. Inflight will offer two (2) types of anti-fog eye protection; one for Flight Attendants that wear glasses and another for those that do not wear glasses.

Flight Attendants requesting the ability to wear eye protection and face shields will now have the option to do so, beginning September 3, 2020. Inflight will offer two (2) types of anti-fog eye protection; one for Flight Attendants that wear glasses and another for those that do not wear glasses. The eye protection goggles will be available for pick up at the following domiciles:

In addition to the approved goggles, company guidelines provide Flight Attendants the option to wear face shields that meet specific parameters; however, United will not be providing face shields. 

Note: If you choose to wear eye protection/face shield, you are required to wear a mask or approved face covering that covers both the nose and mouth. Detailed guidance outlining the parameters for these additional safety options are available in ISW, August 2020.
