Today, United has released the following message regarding unemployment claims:
For COLAs awarded during the COVID-19, United will not contest your claim for unemployment. In addition, United will provide any available helpful information to the state for purposes of your eligibility for unemployment, however, the ultimate decision rests with each state.”
Out of an abundance of caution, your AFA leadership must make it clear that the Union has no jurisdiction over unemployment claims and by sharing this company message with you, we are making no representation or providing any guarantee of your eligibility for unemployment.
The deadline to request any Special COLA starting during the April bid period is March 15, 2020 at 8:00 AM Central Time.
The deadline to request any Special COLA starting during the May bid period is April 6, 2020 at 8:00 AM Central Time.
