Mar 30 - United has made the strategic decision to resume operations in New York at JFK. This means United will now operate out of all three of the major New York area airports.
As we begin to see recovery of the travel industry driven in large part by the introduction and availability of several COVID-19 vaccine options, we are witnessing the first of many opportunities for United to re-establish our presence in certain markets. For example, United has made the strategic decision to resume operations in New York at JFK. This means United will now operate out of all three of the major New York area airports.
While these days it may be hard to find things to celebrate, this is a huge win for our airline and initial indication that brighter days for our industry are on the horizon. In celebration of our home coming to JFK, this past Sunday two of Manhattan's skyscrapers glowed United blue welcoming us home to JFK since we ceased operations in October 2015.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on our industry, our efforts to secure the PSP have positioned United well in being able to take advantage of these opportunities to restore service. While we are not completely out of the woods yet, we hope the beacons of light will serve as a reminder that there is a bright future ahead for our Airline and our industry.
